We hope everyone had a nice (unexpected) long weekend. Everyone cross your fingers that this nasty cold weather comes to an end.... SOON!!!
Parents, please do check with your children in the morning to make sure that they are properly prepared to be outdoors at recess. Even on chilly days, we feel it is important for them to have at least a bit of fresh air and exercise, and so we may send them out for a few minutes. Snow pants, a heavy coat, toque, and mittens are all necessary!
We are starting into our very important math topic of two digit addition. This is one of the most key concepts for the year in grade two. Any extra practice on basic facts will help your child. Lots of card games can be great for adding practice. We begin our math lesson at 8:30 each morning, so it's really important for the students to be on time and ready to learn!
Word work/ spelling has resumed. The lists for the upcoming week are:
Mrs. Wessner & Mrs. Abt's group: short o/long oa/ long o_e
love, one, road, slope, stop, goal, stome, chose, knock, drop
Please check your child's agenda for a consent form and information about our skating program coming up in February. Every child must have consent signed, and have a CSA approved helmet to be able to participate.
Looking ahead to next week, the skiers and snowboarders will be heading to Canyon on Wednesday, and then Friday is a PD day.
