We had another productive week in grade two!
We enjoyed a few funny stories by the very popular author and illustrator David Shannon. In math we began working on our patterning concepts and reviewing place values and representation of the teen numbers (which is sometimes tricky!) The students are building their stamina in reading to self and word work centers. Keep up the great effort grade twos!
In science we've done a few interesting experiments to introduce the three types of matter - and specifically learning about how the movement and behavior of particles allows liquids to flow. You can look around home for ways to point out and observe different types of liquids. To see a few photos of our activities, look under the tab "more" and see our photo album.
Please keep an eye on the weather forecasts in the weeks ahead. It can be hard to choose the right clothing. Often having your child wear a couple of layers is a good way to go so that he/she can adjust as the day goes on.
We hope that everyone is looking forward to our annual Terry Fox Run. This special event will be held the afternoon of Thursday, September 28 and we hope that many families and friends will be able to join us to walk/jog. Our school has a wonderful tradition of kindness and generosity towards this event and we hope to be able to make another great contribution to the Terry Fox legacy this year!
